Best Creed Aventus Inspired Perfumes in the UK (2026)

What Creed Aventus smells like, what makes a good Aventus-inspired perfume, and why we made Imperial Pine.

Imperial Pine by NOAIRE V, a 50ml extrait de parfum inspired by Creed Aventus

If there's one men's fragrance that everybody seems to know, it's Creed Aventus. It's one of the most talked-about scents of the past fifteen years, and it has inspired a huge number of affordable alternatives. That also makes it confusing to shop for: which ones are worth your money, and what should you actually look for?

This isn't a "top 10" list. We haven't lab-tested every Aventus-inspired perfume in the UK and we won't pretend we have. Instead, this is an honest buyer's guide from NOAIRE V, a designer-inspired fragrance brand from Manchester: what Aventus smells like, what makes a good Aventus-inspired perfume, and why we made our own, Imperial Pine.

What is Creed Aventus?

Aventus was launched by the fragrance house Creed in 2010. It quickly became a modern classic: confident, fresh, fruity and smoky, and versatile enough to wear almost anywhere. It's often described as a "compliment getter", and it has a devoted fan community that loves to discuss every detail of it.

It's also expensive. Like most luxury niche fragrances, Aventus is priced as a premium product: a 50ml bottle typically costs over £200 at major UK retailers. That price is the main reason so many people look for an Aventus-inspired perfume.

What does Aventus smell like?

Based on the notes commonly published for Aventus (for example on Fragrantica), the scent develops roughly like this:

  • Opening: pineapple, bergamot, blackcurrant and apple. It's bright, juicy and fresh.
  • Heart: birch, patchouli, jasmine and rose. The birch gives Aventus its famous smoky, slightly leathery edge.
  • Base: musk, oakmoss, ambergris and vanilla. It's warm, woody and clean.

The magic is in the contrast: a juicy pineapple opening that slowly turns smoky and woody. If a fragrance gets that "fresh fruit meets smoke" feeling right, it will remind people of Aventus. If it's all fruit and no smoke, or all smoke and no fruit, it won't.

What to look for in an Aventus-inspired perfume

The UK has lots of inspired-by fragrance brands, and many of them make great products. Here's how we'd judge any Aventus-inspired perfume, including ours.

1. The pineapple and birch balance

Check the notes. You're looking for pineapple (often with bergamot, apple or blackcurrant) up top and birch or a smoky wood in the heart, with musk and woods in the base. That combination is the core of the Aventus style.

2. Concentration

Fragrances are sold at different concentrations: eau de toilette, eau de parfum and extrait de parfum (also called parfum). An extrait contains a higher concentration of fragrance oils, which gives a richer, deeper scent. Labels and percentages aren't standardised across brands, so use them as a guide rather than a guarantee.

3. Honest marketing

A trustworthy inspired-by brand will tell you clearly that its fragrance is its own creation, inspired by the original, and that it isn't affiliated with Creed. Be wary of anyone who suggests you're buying the genuine Creed product, who uses Creed's logo or bottle design, or who makes claims that sound too good to be true.

4. Price per ml

Bottle sizes vary a lot, so compare price per ml. A 50ml bottle at £25 works out at 50p per ml.

5. Returns, delivery and where the brand is based

Before you buy, check the returns policy, delivery costs and whether the brand is UK-based with real contact details. It tells you a lot about how a company treats its customers.

6. Your own nose

Fragrance wears differently on every skin. Read the notes, read the reviews, and if you can, try a scent before committing to a big bottle.

Why we made Imperial Pine

Imperial Pine is NOAIRE V's own extrait de parfum, inspired by the iconic Creed Aventus. We built it around the fruity-smoky balance that makes that style so loved.

The notes:

  • Top: pineapple, bergamot
  • Heart: birch
  • Base: patchouli, musk

Juicy pineapple and sparkling bergamot hit first, fresh and instantly recognisable, then smoky birch rolls in to give it backbone, with patchouli and soft musk rounding it off. It's a confident composition of pineapple, bergamot and smoky woods: fresh yet powerful, with a refined masculine character that leaves a lasting impression.

A few honest points about Imperial Pine:

  • It's our own fragrance. It's inspired by Aventus, but it isn't the Creed fragrance and it isn't meant to be. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by Creed.
  • It's an extrait de parfum. Every NOAIRE V scent is made at a high concentration of fragrance oils.
  • It's £25 for 50ml, or any 3 NOAIRE V fragrances for £60, applied automatically at checkout.
  • Free UK delivery on orders of £60 or more, and a 14-day returns policy on unopened, unused items.
  • It's vegan and cruelty-free.

Build a fragrance wardrobe around it

One great scent is good; three is better. With any 3 for £60, here's a simple men's fragrance wardrobe built around Imperial Pine:

  • Imperial Pine: your fresh, smoky everyday signature. Inspired by Creed Aventus.
  • Satori Air: citron, bergamot, black tea and ginger for clean, calm office days. Inspired by Louis Vuitton Imagination.
  • Elan Flare: bergamot, orange blossom, cinnamon, Bourbon vanilla and praline for warm evenings. Inspired by Parfums de Marly Althaïr.
